Who these terms apply to
"We", "us" and "our" mean Dastel Tour and Safaris. "You" means the lead traveller who makes the booking and every person travelling on it. The lead traveller confirms that they are at least 18 years old, that they are authorised to accept these terms for everyone in the booking, and that they are responsible for the payments due.
Quotations, prices and inclusions
Every journey is priced for your dates, group size, accommodation, vehicle, guiding and activities. Your quotation lists exactly what is included and excluded, the currency, and how long the price remains valid.
- A quotation is an invitation to book. It does not hold accommodation, flights, permits or activities.
- Unless your quotation says otherwise, international flights, visas, travel insurance, tips, personal expenses and drinks not listed as included are not part of the price.
- National park, conservation, concession and Kilimanjaro fees, and government taxes, are set by the Tanzanian and Zanzibar authorities. If an authority changes them after you book, we may pass on the difference and will show you the official change.
Booking and confirmation
Your booking becomes a contract between you and Dastel Tour and Safaris once we have issued a written booking confirmation and received the deposit or full payment it requests. Your confirmation shows your booking reference, travel dates, services, price, payment schedule and any special conditions from lodges, airlines or park authorities.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate traveller details in good time, with names exactly as they appear in each passport.
- Hold a passport that is valid for at least six months after you leave Tanzania, with blank pages for entry stamps.
- Obtain the right visa for each traveller, ideally through the official Tanzania Immigration e-visa service before you fly.
- Meet the health entry requirements for your route, including a yellow fever certificate where one is required.
- Follow the safety instructions of your guide, park rangers, mountain crew and accommodation staff at all times.
- Respect park rules, wildlife, local laws, customs and the communities you visit.
If a traveller's behaviour puts people, wildlife or property at risk, or seriously disrupts the trip for others, our guide may end that traveller's participation. In that case no refund is due for unused services and any extra costs are the traveller's responsibility.
Health, fitness and special requirements
Tell us before you book about any medical condition, pregnancy, mobility need, allergy or dietary requirement that may affect your trip. We will check what lodges and suppliers can arrange, but we cannot guarantee a request until it is confirmed in writing. We are not able to give medical advice, so please speak to your doctor about vaccinations, malaria prevention and your fitness for activities such as high-altitude trekking or walking safaris.
Changes and events outside our control
Travel in Tanzania can be affected by weather, road and river conditions, wildlife movements, park regulations, flight schedules and supplier availability. Where a change is needed we will choose an alternative of comparable standard wherever possible and tell you about it as early as we can.
We are not responsible for delays, changes or losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural events, disease outbreaks, civil unrest, strikes, transport disruption or government action. Comprehensive travel insurance is the best protection against these risks.
Wildlife and the natural world
Our guides know where animals are likely to be, but wildlife is wild. Sightings, the timing of the Great Migration and river crossings, and mountain weather can never be guaranteed. Animals can be unpredictable, so please stay inside the vehicle unless your guide says it is safe, keep a respectful distance and never feed wildlife.
Suppliers and our responsibility
We work with carefully chosen lodges, camps, hotels, airlines, boat operators and activity providers. They operate under their own conditions, which may apply to your booking. We take reasonable care in selecting and arranging these services. To the extent permitted by law, our responsibility is limited to arranging the confirmed services with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Photographs, reviews and feedback
We love hearing about your journey. We will only use your photographs, name or review on our website or social media with your permission. If something is not right during your trip, please tell your guide or call us straight away so we can try to put it right while you are still travelling. If you remain unhappy, write to us as soon as possible after you return.
