Step 1: Tell us about your trip
Reach us through our contact form, by email at booking@dastelsafaris.com, or by phone and WhatsApp on +255 724 211 714. The more you share, the better we can plan:
- Your preferred travel dates, or the month you have in mind
- The number of travellers and the ages of any children
- What you would love to experience: safari, Kilimanjaro, culture, beach or a mix
- Your preferred accommodation style and an approximate budget
- Special occasions, dietary needs or accessibility requirements
Step 2: Your tailored proposal
A member of our team, not an automated system, prepares your proposal. It sets out a day-by-day itinerary, the accommodation we recommend, transport and guiding arrangements, what is included and excluded, the total price and currency, and the payment schedule.
Step 3: Refine it together
Change the pace, swap a lodge, add Zanzibar or an extra day on the mountain. We will adjust the plan and price until it feels right. Prices and availability are only held once your booking is confirmed, so popular dates are best confirmed early.
Step 4: Confirm and secure your journey
When you are ready, tell us in writing that you would like to book and pay the deposit shown in your quotation. We then reserve your accommodation, permits and services and send a written booking confirmation with your booking reference. Some services, such as Kilimanjaro permits, domestic flights and peak-season lodges, may require full payment at the time of booking. We will always tell you before you pay. See our Payment Policy for details.
Step 5: Share your traveller details
Park permits, climbing permits, flights and accommodation need accurate information. We will ask for:
- Full names exactly as shown in each passport, with nationality, date of birth and passport number
- Arrival and departure flight details so we can arrange your airport transfers
- Dietary requirements, allergies and any medical or mobility considerations
- An emergency contact for each traveller and your travel insurance details
Peak seasons and availability
Some dates fill early, especially the Great Migration calving season (around January to February), the river-crossing months (around July to October), Christmas and New Year, and Kilimanjaro climbs timed around the full moon. For these dates we recommend booking six to twelve months ahead. For other times of year we can often arrange journeys at shorter notice.
Private journeys, families and groups
Most of our journeys are private, so you travel only with your own party. Families are very welcome. Some lodges and activities, such as walking safaris and certain treks, set minimum ages, and we will tell you about these when planning. For larger groups we can arrange additional vehicles, guides and room combinations.
Changes after you book
We will always try to help if your plans change. Changes depend on availability and may involve supplier amendment fees, permit changes or a price difference, which we will explain before anything is altered. Name changes may not be possible for permits that have already been issued. If you need to cancel, please read our Cancellation Policy.
Before you travel and on arrival
Before departure we send your final itinerary, contact numbers and practical guidance on what to pack. Please check that passports, visas, vaccinations, flights and travel insurance are in order. When you land, our team will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha, Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar as arranged in your booking, and stay in touch throughout your journey.
