7-Day Kilimanjaro Trek - Rongai Route

Northern landscapes and a quieter approach to Kilimanjaro on the Rongai Route, with authorised camping, Mawenzi Tarn and guided support.

Journey overview

Northern landscapes and a quieter mountain approach

A guided Rongai climb focused on the northern aspect of Kilimanjaro, with contrasting northern mountain scenery and authorised camping.

The campsite sequence is a planning model rather than an instruction for independent trekking, and the final route, including how any extra acclimatisation days are incorporated, is agreed with the licensed mountain team.

Your climb is led by a licensed mountain team, and pace, acclimatisation and summit decisions are always guided by safety. The price is quoted for your travel dates and group size.

Day by day

Your itinerary, in detail.

Open each day to see where you go, what you do, where you stay and which meals are included. We will tailor the arrangements around your travel dates.

Meet the expedition team, complete entry checks and begin the professionally guided mountain programme. Spend the first night at an approved campsite.

The scenery changes as the group moves to its next agreed overnight point. Guides remain responsible for the day's conditions and participant welfare.

Continue toward the dramatic mountain landscapes near Mawenzi, then settle into an authorised campsite. The plan remains flexible if weather or health considerations require change.

Any planned high-altitude objective is conditional on conditions and guide approval, followed by a return to lower accommodation. The group rests in the Horombo area.
